Progresso — Privacy Policy

Progresso is built “local‑first”. Your data stays on your device unless you explicitly create an account to enable cloud sync. We don’t sell your data and we don’t show ads.
Summary of how your data is stored
- Without an account (default): Your activities, notes, templates, and attached images are stored locally on your device. No personal data is stored on our servers. Limited diagnostic data (e.g., crash reports) may be sent to our provider to improve stability.
- With an account (optional): If you sign up/sign in, your data is synced to our backend (Supabase) and associated with your account so you can access it across devices.
- Account data (only if you create an account): email address and basic profile.
- Content you add: activity titles, durations, life areas/subcategories, templates, notes, and optional photos.
- Derived metrics: XP, streaks, statistics computed from your activities.
- Diagnostics: crash reports and technical logs (e.g., device model, OS version, app version, anonymized identifiers) to improve reliability.
- Support communications: messages you send via email or GitHub issues.
We do not collect precise location, contacts, or health data. We do not track you across other apps and websites.
How We Use Your Data
- Provide core features: logging, notes, search, statistics, templates, backups, and restore.
- Sync across devices when you are signed in.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
- Respond to support requests and improve app quality.
Storage and Processing
- Local storage (no account): All content (including images) is stored on your device for offline use. Deleting the app removes local data.
- Cloud sync (with account): Data is stored with Supabase (database and storage buckets) under your user ID. Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS). At‑rest encryption is provided by our cloud provider. Access is restricted to authorized services.
- Search: Keyword search runs over your activity data and notes. Your content is not used for advertising or to train third‑party models.
Backups and Portability
You can export a complete backup from within the app and restore from a file or clipboard. Backups you create are under your control—keep them secure.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Local‑only use: Your data remains on your device; uninstalling the app deletes local data.
- With account: We retain your data while your account is active. You may request account and cloud‑data deletion via the contact methods below. We will complete deletion within a reasonable period, subject to legal requirements and system backups.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers that operate the app:
- Supabase (hosting, database, storage): https://supabase.com
- Sentry (crash reporting): https://sentry.io
These providers process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Children’s Privacy
Progresso is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us to request deletion.
Security
We use industry‑standard measures such as encryption in transit, access controls, and least‑privilege practices. No method is 100% secure, but we continually improve our safeguards.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. We will revise the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
